it's possible to limit the massimum sixe in dimension and kb that an avatar can assume on Jforum?
I've looked into the admin panel, but I cant find the settings I mean.

Go to the admin panel -> Configurations. There change the values for "Max. avatar width ( in pixels )" and "Max. avatar height ( in pixels )", as well "Max. Avatar Size ( in KB )"

why don't you add a dimension preview?
It easy to do wirh a div tag and a javascript, maybe if u r interested I can show you a lil of code that could help.

A user uploaded avatar. I see two files with exactly same name and of types JPG and PNG in the "avatars" directory. What is the reason of keeping two files (second probably produced after some conversion, like image resizing, right?)
